Chief Minister releases Kunwar’s Book on Sant Kabir

Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh, DIG, Jalandhar Range has written a new book ‘Sant Kabir De Anmol Vachan’. This book was released by Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal on 16 January at Jalandhar. This is a research book on the universal teachings of Sant Kabir.
According to the author, these teachings comprising of 105 verses (Dohas) have been divided into 16 Chapters where every chapter throws light on a specific theme in a comprehensive manner. The chapters have been selected keeping in view the prevailing circumstances in the society where materialistic sub-culture has dominated every stream of human life and society at large.
The author has narrated Sant Kabir as a great ‘social scientist’ who has studied the problems faced by the society in a scientific manner and has given practical solution of those problems. Based on the principles of equality of all human beings and need of harmony in the society, the teachings of Sant Kabir have provided simple ways about how the social fabric comprising of King, commoners and government machinery should work.
          Kunwar said that today when a mad race of westernization in the name of modernization was going on amongst the people, this book would showcase our rich cultural heritage and inspire the people to follow Indian traditions and customs as an inseparable part of their life.
          Hailing the initiative of the officer for writing this book, the Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal termed it as a ‘masterpiece composition’ aimed at perpetuating the great legacy of Saint Kabir. He also lauded Kunwar Vijay Partap for authoring third book in a short span of three years despite of extremely hard duty. The officer has earlier authored two books ‘RTI- Law and Practice’ and ‘Cyber Law & Investigation’.

Kunwar Vijay Pratap to get President’s Police Medal

Having recently relinquished the charge as Police Commissioner and now posted at the DIG Jalandhar range, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh is among the top cops from the country to be selected for the President’s Police Medal.
An officer of the 1998 batch of the Indian Police Service, he has been credited with setting up the cyber crime cell of the Punjab Police in Mohali as its founder SSP. Armed with varied qualifications ranging from MA in Sanskrit with specialisation in Indian Philosophy, PG Diploma in Human Resource Management, PhD on Human Rights of Prisoners and LLB, he has served as SSP in Amritsar, Ferozepur, Gurdsapur and Batala. He also worked as the DIG Prisons of the Amritsar Central jail. He has written three books, including Universal Teachings of Kabir and Cyber Laws and Investigations.
