“Our nation is passing through a transitional phase and honest & dedicated citizens are the need of the hour. Only healthy people can contribute in nation building and resurgence of the society. Policemen are the defender of society and so they can perform their duties if and only if they are healthy with body and mind. In the changing socio-democratic scenario, the police has to play a greater role as they are the actual protectors of our democracy.” – told Swami Ramdev addressing the policemen in the Punjab Armed Police Complex at Chandigarh. He asked the policemen to practice Yoga regularly. He also stressed upon the behavioural aspects of policing to make it community oriented.
This function was organized on the initiative of Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, IPS, Commanding Officer of 82 Battalion PAP Chandigarh. Around one thousand police personnel of Punjab Armed Police attended this programme, besides common citizens and senior officers. Sh. AR Talwar, Principal Secretary Home, ADGP Chander Shekhar, Sh. BS Sudan, Sh. BK Singh, DIG N.P. Singh, DIG RN Dhoke, Sh. Neelkanth, Sh. Roop Kumar and Sh. Kuldeep Singh, all senior officers of police and administration, were present at this occasion.
Earlier Swamiji had an interactive session with the judges and advocates in the premises of Punjab and Haryana High Court. He also addressed the members and office bearers of Bharat Swabhiman Trust and Patanjali Yogpeeth in Panchkula and asked them to play a larger role in nation building.

The country needs officers like you who have honesty, character and courage. Looks like Baba Ramdev is bringing all people with character together. This is the only way to fight the Asuras.
